Connect a .site.ink domain to Netlify
Point your name at a Netlify site using external DNS.
Steps
- In your site, open Domain management and add your domain.
- At your DNS host, add the A record for the root name, or an ALIAS/ANAME to apex-loadbalancer.netlify.com if your host supports it.
- For www, add a CNAME to your site’s netlify.app address. Netlify issues the HTTPS certificate automatically.
DNS records
| Type | Host | Value |
|---|---|---|
| A | @ | 75.2.60.5 |
| CNAME | www | <your-site>.netlify.app |
"@" means the name itself (yourname.site.ink). "www" means www.yourname.site.ink.
If the platform suggests a CNAME for your root name
Because site.ink is not on the Public Suffix List yet, some platforms treat yourname.site.ink as a subdomain and suggest a CNAME record. A CNAME is not allowed at the root of your name, so use the A (and AAAA) records above instead, or an ALIAS/ANAME record if your DNS host offers one. Why?
Check your setup
DNS changes usually apply within minutes but can take up to a day. Look up your name in WHOIS to confirm the nameservers, and make sure your domain status is not inactive or on hold.
