Acceptable Use Policy

A clean namespace benefits every owner. This policy sets out prohibited uses and how the registry enforces them.

Version 1.0 · Last updated 15 October 2026

1. Prohibited uses

.site.ink names, including all subdomains and links under them, must not be used for:

  • Phishing — impersonating banks, e-wallets, marketplaces, government agencies, or other services to obtain credentials, personal data, or money.
  • Malware — distributing malicious software, including fake APKs and disguised downloads.
  • Botnets & command-and-control — controlling infected devices.
  • Spam — unsolicited bulk email, messages, or comments promoting a .site.ink name.
  • Fraud — investment scams, fake giveaways, fictitious stores, and similar schemes.
  • Child sexual abuse material — in any form. Reports are passed to law enforcement without notifying the registrant.
  • Clear intellectual property infringement, such as selling counterfeit goods or piracy.
  • Any other activity that violates the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.

2. Specific rules for redirects and URL shorteners

Because many .site.ink names are used for link-in-bio pages and URL shorteners, an owner who redirects visitors to other destinations is responsible for those destinations. In particular:

  • Redirects must not be used to disguise phishing or malware destinations.
  • URL shortening services operating under a .site.ink name must provide a reporting mechanism, scan new links against threat lists, and disable malicious links within 24 hours of becoming aware of them.
  • Platforms that give users subdomains under their name must provide a reachable abuse contact.

3. Registry actions

Depending on severity and evidence, the registry may:

  1. forward the report to the registrar for follow-up with the registrant;
  2. apply serverHold status so the domain stops resolving in DNS;
  3. lock the domain against updates and transfers;
  4. delete the registration for serious or repeated violations.

For active threats that endanger users (phishing, malware, child abuse), the registry may suspend the domain immediately without waiting for the registrar, and notify the registrar afterwards.

5. Appeals

A registrant whose domain has been suspended may appeal through their registrar or to abuse@domain.site.ink, with evidence that the violation has stopped or that the report was mistaken. The registry reviews appeals within 5 business days.

6. Reporting

Use the abuse reporting page. Reports can also be sent directly to the registrar's abuse contact shown in the WHOIS result.
